Step 1: Preparation

Step 3: Marking the Placement
Mark the spots on the roof where you'll install the solar hooks. Measure and ensure proper spacing between the hooks according to your specific solar panel layout and manufacturer's recommendations.
Step 4: Drilling Holes
Using an appropriate drill bit, create holes in the marked spots. The size of the drill bit should match the specifications provided by the solar hook manufacturer. Ensure that the holes penetrate through the roofing material and into the rafters or studs for secure attachment.
Step 5: Installing Roofing Anchors
If your roof requires additional support, install roofing anchors or lag bolts into the pre-drilled holes. These anchors will provide extra stability and ensure the hooks are securely attached to the roof structure.
Step 6: Attaching the Solar Hooks
Position the solar hooks over the drilled holes or roofing anchors and align them properly. Insert the provided screws or bolts through the holes in the hooks and tighten them with a wrench or screwdriver. Ensure the hooks are firmly attached to the roof.
Step 7: Applying Flashing
To prevent water leakage, apply waterproof flashing around the base of each solar hook. The flashing should cover the area where the hook meets the roof, creating a watertight seal. Use a suitable sealant or roofing adhesive to secure the flashing in place.
Step 8: Final Checks
Inspect the installed solar hooks to ensure they are secure and properly aligned. Double-check that the flashing is correctly sealed to prevent any potential leaks. Make any necessary adjustments or re-tighten screws if needed.
